PASIGHAT, Apr 14: Five-day eastern Arunachal tour of Minister Education, Cultural Affairs and Department of Indigenous Affairs, Taba Tedir concluded today with the foundation stone laying of academic block-A of Arunachal Pradesh University, Pasighat under East Siang district.
During the tour, Tedir visited parts of Changlang, Tirap, Namsai, Lohit and East Siang district with an aim to know the ground reality of various educational institutions and inaugurated various educational infrastructures.
He also inspected government and private colleges and schools of five district and interacted with teaching faculties and students.
Tedir held wide-ranging talks with education department officials and teaching faculties of respective districts regarding various innovation, infrastructure facilities, aspects of new education policy as well as policy adopted by state government to achieve the target of education year declared by state government to improve the quality of education scenario of the state.
Minister also assured to address the various demands placed by respective colleges and school authority on priority wise while responding to a memorandum submitted to him. Minister also advocated that "teachers and students should take care of school building like own property as state government cannot provide fund every time as there are many educational institutions in the state."
Higher & Technical Education Director Tayek Talom, Elementary Education Director Tapi Gao, and Secondary Education Director Marken Kadu, NSS State Liaison Officer AK Mishra, Coordinator RUSA Minto Ete, concerned MLAs of respective districts, HODs as well as panchayat leaders accompanied him during his visits.
