ITANAGAR, Feb 28: Commissioner Education, Padmini Singla, on the sidelines of her visit to Golden Jubilee Nyokum celebrations at Seppa visited schools and interacted with line depts i.e. Education, Women & Child Development and SJETA.
On February 25, she visited three schools, GHSS Seppa, GMS Boso Colony and GPS New Wessang as well as inspected  the newly constructed One Stop Centre at Wessang. Later a review meeting with all the officials of Education Department including BEO, BRC/CRC along with Circle Officers and had a discussion on various suggestions and ideas to improve the quality of education in Arunachal Pradesh. Special attention was given to the pilot project being implemented under Mission Shiksha which aims to strengthen the participation of community in school administration and also in capacity building of teachers as per the standards prescribed in Shala Siddhi. 
During the meeting, many BEOs and BRCs highlighted the need for improving infrastructure and filling the gaps in teachers and staff postings in various schools. The Commissioner also stressed on the need to bridge educational gaps in the current academic year through extra classes and answer writing practice of sample papers.
During the discussion with Women & Child Development department, problems like anemia and stunting amongst children were highlighted and working of Anganwadi Centers was also reviewed. 
During the interaction, EAC Bana has come up with many interesting suggestions such as performance-based grants to schools and teachers.
