PASIGHAT, Dec 16: Education Commissioner, Padmini Singla on Thursday visited the Sainik School East Siang (SSES) at Niglok and took stock of the development.
Accompanied by the school Principal Commander Praveen Kumar Pola, the Commissioner inspected the prefabricated structures which houses classrooms, hostels and staff quarters constructed by the State Education Department Engineering Wing. The Commissioner also inspected the ongoing RCC academic and hostel blocks being constructed by State PWD and assured the Principal to provide all possible assistance for betterment of the school. During her maiden visit to the school, Singla also interacted with cadets and congratulated them for their admission to the lone Sainik School of the state and advised them to work hard to excel in life and bring laurels for the state.
Taking privilege, Principal Pola briefed the visiting Commissioner about the aim and concept of Sainik Schools and various academic, training, co-curricular and co-scholastic activities undertaken in the school for holistic development of cadets including recently initiated NCC training for Class IX and X cadets. He briefed about the grants and assistance provided by the state to the school and thanked all stakeholders including District Administration for their support and assistance to the school.
Cadet Ato Venia and his team presented Ceremonial Guard of Honour to the visiting Commissioner while the other cadets presented military drill and discipline.
