BOMDILA, Mar 28: Stahor Bio-diversity Management Committee(SBMC),Srahor (Doimara) village, West Kameng district under the aegis of Bombay Natural Historical Society (BNHS) today successfully completed the compilation of its PBR (People’s Bio-diversity Register). 
The SBMC  Chairman, DK Thongon in presence of Doimara villagers welcomed Kesang Wangda, CO, Kamengbari-Doimara and DTO Sumit Barua to the inaugural function  of Eco-Campsite at Srahor village.The Eco-campsite will remain open for wildlife enthusiasts and  tourists throughout the year.
During the inaugural function, CO Kamengbari-Doimara lauded the SBMC and BNHS for the noble initiative and also requested the villagers for active participation in preserving the rich flora and fauna of the area.
Dr.Rahul Ramesh Mungikar,AD,BNHS and  Dr.Girish Jathar(Bird Expert), AD,BNHS were present on the occasion  with Dr.Monsoon Jyoti Gogoi – a butterfly expert from BNHS who coordinated the entire project of PBR and Eco-campsite.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Rahul congratulated the SBMC and Team -BNHS  for the successful entry into league of 3% of BMCs in the country who have completed their compilation of PBR and informed the importance of the register. He further added that a successful conservation would also yield better economic prospects in future.
Speaking on the occasion Dr.Girish said that the best gift one could give for future generation would be to conserve the Bio-diversity of the area.
Thongon thanked the support of BNHS and ICICI Bank,Mumbai in successful establishment of Eco-campsite at Doimara- a facility which would help SBMC to generate economic support for maintenance of the Committee and also facilitate tourists and wildlife  enthusiasts in exploring the rich flora and fauna of the area.
