ITANAGAR, Aug 18: The Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) while claiming that the people of the Tirap, Changlang, Longding (TCL) region are “bona fide” Naga tribes, has extended its support for creation of the separate Patkai Autonomous Council (PAC).
The press communiqué from ENNG which was released on Tuesday asserted that the Nagas of TCL have their own democratic rights to demand Autonomous Council for bringing better development in the region. The Nagas of TCL deserve to be self-administered for better development and not because of the NSCN (IM) demand for territorial integration of the region, the release said, claiming further that the PAC clamour which means remaining under direct control of the Centre stems out of the demand of the people of the region.
The release clarified that the ENNG from the very beginning has supported the demand for creation of PAC which would be outside the purview of the state of Nagaland for the larger developmental aspirations of the people of the TCL region which is geographically remote. The organization while appreciating the Central government for the move regarding creation of separate Autonomous Councils under 6th Schedule for Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, has also requested Chief Minister Pema Khandu, State Cabinet and the MLAs of the state to support the Patkai Autonomous Council demand.
ENNG has further suggested the state’s civil organizations to maintain brotherhood between the “Nagas” of the TCL region and the people of entire Arunachal Pradesh.
