PASIGHAT, Jun 4: The review meeting of the District Core Committee on the current Covid -19 situation in East Siang was held today here wherein Principal Secretary, Dr. Sharat Chauhan took stock of the initiatives, vaccination status, availability of oxygen, medicines and status of Dedicated Covid Hospital and overall Covid management in the district virtually.  
The occasion also marked the launch of the “Covid Care Banks” for each eight Circles of East Siang and “Weekly Fever Survey” initiated by the East Siang DA, by the Principal Secretary.
Also on the occasion, appreciating the performance of the 100% Vaccinated villages ( for 45 & above)  achieved by Aohali  in Mebo Circle,  Runne & Sibut  in Yagrung Circle, 12- Mile  in Sille –Oyan Circle and Mane & Sido-Tene in Kora Circle,  the DC handed over Certificates to the respective Circle Officers.
DC Dr. Kinny Singh briefed that the District Administration in a small effort to give back to the needy section of society, has decided to set up   “Covid Care Banks “ in each of the eight Circles of the district.
The Covid Care Banks were set up from the fine amount of Covid -19 Appropriate Behavior Enforcement. East Siang DA has collected Rs. Three Lakh twenty four thousand from the violations of Covid -19 SOPs.  From this Bank, the needy section can take up equipment like Oximeters, thermometers free of cost for monitoring their health status and they can return back to the Circle Bank after they turn Negative. The Bank will also have one Oxygen Concentrator for each Circle, and will also have masks and generic medicines. The initiative is also supported by Vision IAS as CSR support.
Provided by the District Disaster Management Authority, East Siang, DC, also handed over Anti-Covid -19 & Fever Survey Kit for Malaria & JE on the occasion. To ramp up testing for Covid-19, Malaria & JE, fifteen Weekly Fever Survey teams will carry out the activities, particularly in rural areas.
East Siang has so far achieved 92.09 % in Vaccination coverage of 45 & above adding efforts are on to further step up various initiatives to boost up vaccination for all 18 plus and above and all eligible beneficiaries. The importance of following Covid appropriate behavior was also stressed during the review meeting.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong spoke on the role and contribution in various capacities made by NGOs, individuals and various members in the fight against Covid -19.
The DC also received thermal scanners, Oxymeters, and gloves donated to Dedicated Covid Care Hospital (DCH) by IGJHSS batch of 2000-2002 from District Nodal Officer (Covid-19), Arvind Pangging.
The meeting was also attended by   local MLA, Kaling Moyong, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, Joint DHS, Dr. D. Raina, DMO, Dr. Kaling Dai, SDO, Oli Perme, District Nodal Officer, Arvind Pangging, DRCHO Dr. T. Gao, Admin Officers among others. DIPRO
