PASIGHAT, Jun 8: At a time when the ferocity of the second Covid wave is very much perceptible in East Siang, the District Congress Committee has come up with a philanthropic project to assist the District Administration by providing free meals (dinner) to the healthcare workers assigned at the Dedicated Covid Hospital, Pasighat and the Covid patients undergoing treatment.
The free meals are being provided by the DCC East Siang starting from June 4 last to be continued till July 4, informed DCC East Siang sources this evening. In addition to helping the healthcare workers, free light refreshments are also being provided to the police personnel manning every turn of the Pasighat township during the entire stretch of the curfew from June 8-30. The DCC Covid monitoring team with dedicated volunteers is being led by its Chairman Oni Tamuk, President District Congress Committee. Appreciations are pouring in from all sections of society for the selfless effort. The hygienic and quality meal supplied by the team have been highly appreciated by the HCWs and police personnel.

39th Mebo MLA, Lombo Tayeng who is also the Congress legislative party leader of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee,  MLA 37th Pasighat West Ninong Ering and former Education Minister Bosiram Siram are said to be the funding stars of the project. All the three Congress leaders have assured all-possible help to the DA and the state government in the fight against Covid.
Deputy Commissioner, East Siang Dr Kinny Singh and SP Sumit Kr Jha have expressed their appreciation to the DCC Covid monitoring team for their selfless services. Words of appreciation have also arrived from Nodal Officer, DCH, Pasighat Dr T.Tali for the noble initiative.
