PASIGHAT, Sep 13: The East Siang administration held a review meeting today under the chairmanship of the Addl. Deputy Commissioner Tatdo Borang which was attended by the PMC Chief Councillor and officers, representatives of community based organisations and senior members of society.
After open house discussion, for public convenience, Chairman Borang instructed the Pasighat Municipal Council to declare “No Parking Zone” so that citizens could park only in designated parking lots where fees are to be collected for revenue generation. He re-fixed the existing rate i.e. Rs. 20/- per day for four wheelers and Rs. 10/- for whole day for two wheelers to be collected in the interest of public and revenue generation.
During discussion, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang apprised the house that the Urban Local Bodies of Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Act 200, PMC holds the right to frame and regulate levy of user charge on parking. She also assured the house that PMC would conduct training and sensitization programmes for parking attendants in order to acquaint them with orderly parking.
