SEPPA, Jul 26: In view of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in East Kameng, the District Administration  has imposed  total lockdown  in the district from July 26 to 30 next.
Speaking to reporters, Deputy Commissioner Pravimal Abhisek Polumatla informed that a person tested COVID-19 positive today through RT-PCR test in the district. The total positive case in the district is three, among which two have tested negative in the second test and will be discharged today, he added.
DC said that the person is asymptomatic with no travel history and has been shifted to district Covid Care Centre (CCC) for further treatment. 
“We are making all efforts to identify the contacts of the person. And accordingly, all the testing will be done for all those who were in his contact,” he said, adding that the process of sanitization of the area has been implemented.
For the convenience of the public, DC said as entire shops will remain closed, essential items will be brought to people in the respective sectors by the assigned shop owners.
While requesting the public to cooperate with the district administration, DC also said to take all precautions and not to venture out of the house without any reasons during the lockdown.
DC said that lockdown was called during an emergency meeting with the district medical team, district executive magistrate and police.
According to the lockdown order, no movement of people including vehicles in the said region will be allowed. All commercial, private establishments, and government offices will remain closed.
Banks can function but shall not allow any customers to visit the branches. All transport services shall remain suspended except for the transportation of essential commodities. All places of worship, sports facilities, and gymnasiums shall remain closed. Officers on COVID-I 9 duty, quarantine facilities, law and order, fire, ATMs, print and electronic media, health facilities, telecommunications, internet services, power, and water services are exempted from this order. 

 Meanwhile, till the filing of this report, more reports were received from East Kameng that 10 cases of COVID-19 were detected at Seppa.
