AALO, Jan 29: District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI), West Siang in a meeting today here at the DC’s Conference Hall discussed the key issues pertaining to implementation of Covid-19 vaccination and Routine Immunization (RI) in the district.
Chairing the meeting, SDO Henkir Lollen stressed on administering the dual doses in a phase-wise manner to the prospective recipients and generating awareness through the respective CDPOs among healthcare workers, particularly Anganwadi workers who are unreachable. He assured to mobilize the frontline workers of DC’s office to take the vaccine as per schedule. Highlighting the fear psychosis prevalent among healthcare workers about the vaccine and their absence during vaccination sessions, he suggested the HoDs to show the way by taking the doses first. The DMO and other Programme Officers in the district and the MOs of the PHCs and CHCs have done the same to dispel the rumours of side effects doing the rounds, he said while reiterating the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
