PASIGHAT, June 7: The East Siang Police arrested a native of Assam with suspected heroin near Oyan.
SP Sumit Kr Jha informed today that an information was received that a drug peddler was going to deliver a consignment of contraband near Oyan Village area in East Siang. Accordingly, a team led by ASP Ruksin Tasi Tonong Darang laid a trap to catch the peddler red-handed. 
Accused Rahul Medok, 36, from Purana Jelam Gaon, Jonai (Dhemaji, Assam) was apprehended and a total of 25.12 Grams of suspected Heroin was recovered from his possession. A two-wheeler and a mobile phone was also seized.
Sille Oyan PS Case no. 10/2023 u/s 21(B) NDPS Act has been registered. Subsequent raids were conducted at different places in Assam in connection with the same case and further investigation is on, informed SP Jha.
