CHANGLANG, Aug 6: Acting on a tip-off regarding the movement of unknown underground cadres in the general area of Tirap bridge of Changlang district, the Changlang battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) nabbed one person identified as Kijen Sapong of Tirap district on Friday.
During interrogation, one kilogram opium, cash  Rs. 66,000, an Assam registration motorcycle was recovered from him including other items.
The arrestee also revealed that he collects the drug from Lazu and conducts his business in and around Changlang district. He has been moving in and out of Myanmar, because of family ties, therefore, drug supply from Myanmar can’t be ruled out, a press statement by the AR said. 
The apprehended drug dealer was handed over to Changlang Police Station for further investigation.
