ITANAGAR,  Jun 4: The Capital Complex Dree Festival Celebration Committee (CCDFC 2023) electrified the atmosphere on June 3 last with its highly anticipated 15-kilometre Dree Marathon Race. With the theme "Cherishing the living Tanw Culture," the event attracted a remarkable participation of 137 runners, including athletes from across the North Eastern States and various districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The Dree Marathon has become a hallmark of athletic excellence in the region, and this year's race did not disappoint. The male and female competitors pushed their limits, showcasing their speed, endurance, and determination on the challenging course. In an impressive display of athleticism, Bijay Deka of Guwahati, Assam, once again claimed the top spot in the men's category, proving his mettle as the reigning champion of the Dree Marathon. Deka covered the demanding route in a remarkable time of 54 minutes, followed by Humen Senapati and Bijanto Khariya. Meanwhile, in the women's category, Joti Mane emerged as the winner by completing the marathon in 1 hour and 16 minutes, followed by Yabang Tali and Yai Pumping.
