PASIGHAT, Nov 10: The GIS-based ‘Draft Master Plan for Pasighat-2030’ was reviewed today in a meeting held here under the chairmanship of DC-cum-Chairman, Local Planning Authority (LPA), Pasighat Dr. Kinny Singh, attended by high-level officials from the concerned State and Central government departments and Pasighat East MLA-cum-Adviser to CM (UD, TP & Municipal Affairs) Kaling Moyong.
Appealing the departments to adhere to the Master Plan while planning future developmental projects, the DC stressed on judicious utilization of living space for a systematic and planned growth of the township. It was pointed out that for ensuring regulation of land utilisation, all land allotments must be done in conformity with the Master Plan provisions, with special considerations regarding RoW, demarcation of flood-prone and earthquake-hazard zones etc.
Assistant Town Planner Tani Taloh gave a brief overview of the local planning and urban boundaries of the township. Expert Urban Planners from the All India Institute of Local Self Governance, New Delhi, Paritosh Goel and Sangge Nangkar presented the details of the Master Plan and highlighted its importance in regulating growth and development of the township in a sustainable way. Urging the officials to give more emphasis on development of sports-oriented facilities and their incorporation in land-use plan, Moyong also stressed on drawing a futuristic drainage plan and weighing the possibility of harnessing wind as an alternative source of energy for Pasighat.

Director TP & ULBs Sukhvinder Singh stressed on the core areas of development with city-specific infrastructure development such as drainage plan, development of tourism potential, initiation of zonal plan catering to RoW of all sector roads and other utilities such as sewage system and development of sustainable public space such as cycle track in the township.
To address their respective concern, other stakeholder departments were instructed to furnish inputs in the plan within the next fifteen days for further action. DIPRO
