ITANAGAR, Feb 4: Union Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan has assured to inaugurate the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Bio Resources and Sustainable Development Centre in Kimin.
Dr Harsh Vardhan gave the assurance during a meeting with the state delegation who met him in the national capital. Led by LS MP Tapir Gao and RS MP Nabam Rebia, the other members of the delegation were Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology (APSCS&T) Bamang Mangha, Director, Department of Science & Technology Er. C.D. Mungyak, Director, State Remote Sensing Application Centre H.K. Dutta and Joint Directors Er. Bamang Apo and Tana Tage. The meeting discussed creation of Earth Sciences Division under the Department of Science and Technology of the state to reap the benefits of scientific research activities in areas of mines and minerals, geotechnical laboratory, natural hazards, all-weather station etc. When requested to take up Arunachal’s pending projects and new proposals under the Union S&T Ministry, the Union Minister assured to give personal attention in early sanctioning of the projects. He was also apprised about the current status of various ongoing projects in the state by the APSCS&T Chairman.
Both the MPs expressed gratitude to the Minister for giving special care to Arunachal Pradesh in the development of science and technology and for helping in harnessing the state’s vast natural resources through scientific and technological interventions. SRSAC PR
