ZIRO, Mar 10: District Child Protection unit, Ziro in separate cases has rescued two children here from the Lower Subansiri district headquarters and adjoining area.
Acting on a complaint it received through Childline, Roing on February 26 last, a team of the unit led by Advocate Hibu Usha under guidance of Deputy Director, ICDS Dani Yami launched a search operation and managed to locate the missing child. The child was later handed over to his parents residing in Manyuling village of Medo Circle in Lohit district on March 2.
Meanwhile, in yet another success the same team also traced out and rescued a missing child hailing from Lathao village in Namsai district from Yachuli on March 4. She was handed over to her parents on March 6. The untiring efforts of the District Child Protection unit in locating the missing children from other districts and returning them back to their parents’ custody have earned accolades from the District Administration.
The other members of the unit from One Stop Centre, Ziro who were part of the rescue operations were Centre Administrator Duyu Yame, IT staff Likha Tadh and counsellors Dani Jonny and Rakhe Tag. DIPRO
