DNG college 
holds awareness workshop on 
Intellectual 
Property Rights 
ITANAGAR, May 4: The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) cell, Dera Natung Government College organized a one day awareness workshop on Intellectual Property Rights, today in collaboration with Patent Information Centre, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology (APSCS&T), Itanagar (Department of Science and Technology), and Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi.
Er. C.D. Mungyak, Director APSCS&T welcomed the gathering and highlighted the motto behind the workshop.
Dr. Yashwant Dev Panwar, Head, IPR division, TIFAC, New Delhi explained the objectives of the workshop and various fields related to IPR.
Dr. M.Q. Khan, the Principal of DNGCI, in his speech encouraged the participants not to shy away from their indigenous ideas and bring them to light with the help of IP Rights. He also encouraged the IPR cell of the college to further increase its outreach programs in order to benefit society and the community.
Er. Bamang Apo, Joint Director, APSCS&T offered his vote of thanks to the inaugural session of the workshop.
Dr. Yashwant Dev Panwar, Dr. Sanchita Ganguli, Attorney, M/S, Majumder & Co., Kolkata and Mrs. Souma Samanta, Attorney, M/S, L.S. Dava & Co., Kolkata delivered their presentation in the technical session. They beautifully explained various aspects related to intellectual property such as copyright management in academic institutes, Patenting system in India, the potential of IP in north-east India etc. and clarified the doubts of the participants.
On the occasion, MoU was also signed between Dera Natung Government College and Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (Department of Science and Technology), Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
