PASIGHAT, Oct 16: District Legal Services Authority (DSLA), East Siang organized ‘Door to Door’ free legal aid awareness campaign’ marking the World Students Day under Pan India Free Legal Aid Awareness and Outreach Programmes as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Campaign celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence and 25th Anniversary of Legal Services Day under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). The beneficiaries were the daily wagers, labourers of Saw mill areas, Jarku, Gumin Nagar and students and staff of Kasturva Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Pasighat.
Legal Aid Counsels informed the beneficiaries about Legal Aid Clinic, Duties of Legal Aid Councel, Right to Education Act 2009, POCSO Act 2012, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005, Arunachal Victim Compensation Scheme 2011 and Various Government Schemes for girl child.
ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers of the colony also took part in the programme.
DLSA team covered more than 200 households where more than 580 beneficiaries benefited from the programme. DIPRO
