Roing, Nov 10: The 8th Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship 2021 concluded today with MP Tapir Gao declaring the championship closed here at Roing. Also present were Ratu Techi (President ASBA) as guest of honour, former CM Mukut Mithi, MLA Mutchu Mithi, executive members of ASBA and other dignitaries.
MP Tapir Gao, addressing the gathering, advised the ASBA to pick out talent, nurture them and provide them with opportunities to represent the state at the national level. Stating that the people of the state are born with the physique of sportsmen, he added that we have to develop this unique gift with discipline and hard work. 
He also advised the players to stay away from drugs and other intoxicants, persevere in the sports discipline chosen by them and bring laurels for the state. There are no ranks and prizes in life but sports has winners and rankings, so losers shouldn’t get disheartened and winners shouldn’t get complacent and should keep working hard, he advised the sportspersons participating in the competition.
The tournament saw participants from all the districts of the state, sports academy and other organisations.
