ITANAGAR, Aug 9:  All Arunachal Pradesh Divyangjan Students’ Union has demanded a separate commissioner, release of the National Disability Pension and 4% job reservations from the state government. Speaking to reporters at the Arunachal Press Club, General Secretary  AAPDSU, Seema Podo stated that for last one-year pension scheme for disabilities hasn’t been released as a result people within disabilities are facing a financial crisis and appealed the government to release it immediately.
She also informed that the union has submitted a memorandum to the Governor seeking his intervention on their demands. In its charter of demands,AAPDSU is demanding the release of the National Disability Pension Scheme, an advertisement on 4% reservation for Divyangjan in every department, mandatory appointment of special educators in all schools and a separate commissioner for Divyangjan.
