TAWANG, Aug 18: A new building for Casualty and Emergency Block in Khandro Drowa Tsangmo District Hospital, Tawang was inaugurated and dedicated to the service of the public by the local MLA Tsering Tashi today.
During the interaction meeting which followed, the legislator commended the doctors and healthcare workers for their dedicated and selfless service during the Covid pandemic.
“During this pandemic, when the rest of the people were staying at home with their near and dear ones, you were serving us by staying away from your families. Your selfless service has increased the respect for you many fold,” he said.
Laptops were also distributed to Health and Wellness Officers of various health facilities of the district.
Later inaugurating a new Zomkhang (meeting) hall near DC office Tawang, the MLA commended the collective effort for the stage of development achieved. “Government servants are the ambassadors of the government; it is you who represents the government to the public. The overall performance of every officer and official of the district is very good, because of which, we find that the benefits of all government welfare schemes have reached the last man.”
He also appealed to government officials to work towards preservation of indigenous tradition and especially encourage the use of mother tongue.
