ZIRO, Mar 16: District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI), Lower Subansiri conducted its 5th meeting on COVID-19 vaccination and the 2nd round on Intensified Indradhanush IMI 3.0 today here at the DC’s office chamber.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang stressed on intensifying the awareness efforts on COVID vaccination and called for using the Gramsabha platforms for dissemination of such information. Underscoring the need for taking COVID vaccination awareness to the grassroots level, the DC advocated for inclusion of PRI members for wider outreach. Due to variation in vaccination coverage across various PHCs and CHCs in the district, the DMO was asked to make sure that the respective MOs meet the targets. Expressing dismay over poor vaccination coverage especially in the ongoing second phase under which people with comorbidities falling under the 45-59 years age group are covered, she instructed the DIPRO to prepare IECs in local dialects along with counselling drives by the Health department.
Speaking about IMI, the DC made it clear that immunization certificate will be made mandatory not only for admission to schools, but also for obtaining birth certificates. The District Statistical Officer will be instructed to issue an order to this effect, she added.
Among others, the SP and members of DTFI attended the meeting. DIPRO
