DOIMUKH, Mar 19: The week-long state level training on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for the community volunteers and CAPF personnel organised by 12 Bn NDRF concluded today here at its headquarters.
The chief objective of the capacity building training is to prepare the community volunteers who always play a vital role during any disaster. CAPF personnel also play an important role in providing immediate relief to the disaster victims. The comprehensive course modules prepared by 12 NDRF include topics like basic search and rescue, patient assessment, BLS & CPR, post-snake-bite measures, fire safety, group exercises etc. There are both theoretical and practical sessions aimed at building the capacity and confidence of volunteers for acting as first responders. Apart from these, basic disaster management and advanced equipment training like deep diving, speed boat handling and collapse structure search and rescue technique training are being conducted for the CAPF personnel. 92 volunteers of the third batch were trained during the week at the NDRF headquarters.
Specialized training to the CAPF personnel are also being conducted at 30 Bn SSB Dirang and 67 Bn SSB Lungla.
