YINGKIONG, Aug 1:A week long disaster awareness programme conducted by the 12th BN NDRF, Doimukh, in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority, Yingkiong got underway in Upper Siang District.

Attending as Chief Guest at Tourist Hall, Yingkiong DC Remo Kamki urged all the participants to learn and taken full advantage from the training which will be beneficial during any kind of disaster.

DDMO Tsangpa Tashi said that the objective of the training is to sensitize the people to take precautionary measures in order to minimize the quantum of damages of life and properties in the event any type of disasters.

Inspector, NDRF Shibu Mandal educated the people on how to be proactive, respond to disaster and of the responsibilities before and after the occurrence of a disaster.

The NDRF team demonstrated on different method of SAR operations & safety tips on various disasters.

The same programme shall be conducted at Geku, Jengging, Mariyang and Tuting involving PRI members, Public and students.
