BOMDILA, Jul 8: The much-awaited traveller bus service from Dirang to Itanagar, the fare of which will be much cheaper compared to the one charged by private operators was flagged off today by Dirang MLA Phurpa Tsering from ADC office Dirang in presence of Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng Karma Leki and ZPC Rinchin Zomba Merakpa. An ambulance service was also rolled out on the occasion.
To be run by APST, the bus service will charge Rs 860 per passenger for travelling from Dirang to the state capital vis-à-vis Rs 2500 charged by private operators. Tsering lauded the state government for allotting more than 60 ambulances to various districts, including West Kameng and appreciated the health and frontline workers for their relentless efforts in controlling COVID in Dirang Circle. He also urged the DC and the DMO to functionalise the Circle Office and PHC under Thembang Block in the interest of the area’s people. 
The DC, who is also the Chairman of District Level Planning Committee (DLPC) along with the MLA and officials visited various ongoing Central/State sponsored projects viz. Multipurpose Indoor Sport Complex under Khelo India scheme, 320 dwelling units for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) under Rajiv Awas Yojana, RCC bridge over Dirang river connecting Dirang Hq to Dirang township, RK Sarada Mission Middle School Khasso, construction of Higher Secondary School phase-II under NLCPR/NESIDS etc. DIPRO
