ITANAGAR, Aug 24: District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), West Kameng, Gocham Taga, passed away on Monday following a massive heart attack. He breathed his last at Mangaldoi, Assam while being evacuated from Bomdila to Guwahati for treatment. He is survived by his mother, four siblings, wife and two sons.
In a condolence letter to Late Taga’s mother, chief minister Pema Khandu wrote “exceptionally upright officer, Late Taga was sincere, dedicated, energetic and possessed outstanding qualities as an officer. He was an asset for the State Government.”
In his demise, the state has lost an officer par excellence who set pinnacles in his chosen career, the letter read.
Late Taga, hailing from Raga in Kamle District was born to Late Gocham Teni and Gocham Yemi on 12 January 1972. He did his schooling from VKV Sher, and Higher Secondary School Ziro and later graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru College Pasighat. He Joined the state Government service as DIPRO on 6 June 1994 at Seppa after topping the DIPRO exam of 1994 conducted by the APPSC.
The officers and staff of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations also mourned the demise of one of its own at Soochna Bhawan, Naharlagun. Officers and staff led by Deputy Director, Dasher Teshi, after paying glowing tributes to late Taga observed two minutes silence for the departed soul.
His last rites will be performed at his native town Raga on August 25.
