NAHARLAGUN, Aug 9: The state government has responded to the demand for white paper on the financial status of the state. It provided details on the financial status, APSSB and Trans Arunachal highway scams and expenditure incurred for managing the Covid-19 pandemic in the state starting from March this year.
Addressing media persons at a press conference at the Civil Secretariat this afternoon, chief secretary Naresh Kumar said that because of slowing down of the economic activities during the end of the last financial year there was a gap of about Rs 2583.53 crore in the fund received from the Centre.
For the current financial year Rs 3097.76 crore has been received from the Centre so far during the last four months against the anticipated 3943.32 crore which is short by about Rs 845 crore, he disclosed.
Stating that the GST collection is coming on track slowly, Kumar said that during the next few months liabilities will be cleared.
“Despite all this, we have made sure to pay the salaries of our staffers and even the pensioners on time. There was never a delay. We decided not to reduce the money circulation,” the CS said.
Speaking of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board job scam issue, he said that SIC is waiting for the FSL report of the evidences from the findings sent to Chandigarh. “Once it is received, only then we will be able to challan the case to the court,” the CS said.
He also said that all the government officers involved in the scam have been issued memorandum, which is a process to prosecute any government official.
“There is no deliberate attempt to delay the case. We are in the process of issuing the chargesheet,” the CS assured.
About the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) compensation scam, he said that the recovery process of fake and forged beneficiaries is underway and was delayed due to the pandemic. He assured that legal action will be initiated against those who were paid without chainage.
