Bomdila, Jun 26: DC West Kameng along with ADC Kalaktang, Commandant 14 BRTF and HoDs of West Kameng District visited  flood and landslide affected areas of Kalaktang Sub-Division and took stock of the extensive damage caused due to heavy rainfall over the past few weeks. At Angkaling, where several houses were damaged due to flash flood, Karma Leki DC West Kameng, distributed relief items to the affected villagers.
The team also visited 700 chainage area where a massive search operation by the NDRF is underway for the 8th day in search of  3 people who went missing after a flash flood on June 18 next. NDRF were instructed to keep the search operations on for few more days when the rainfall is likely to stop, do mop up search operation for the missing persons. The OKSRT road which connects EAC HQ of Balemu with the rest of the district has been extensively damaged at numerous locations due to landslides and flash floods. The restoration process of the OKSRT road is in progress however the road is still blocked at several points and stretches due to washing off of road formation where fresh earth cutting is done by BRO.
