NAMSAI, Nov 21: The District Level Export Promotion Committee meeting of Zone- A comprising of eight districts of the state namely Namsai , Lohit, Anjaw , Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley , Changlang , Tirap & Longding was held today at District Secretariat Namsai. The meeting was co - chaired by Sasi Kumar, Addl. Director General, Foreign Trade, Guwahati and RK Sharma , Deputy Commissioner Namsai and was attended by Tokong Pertin, Director (Trade & Commerce) Itanagar and the Deputy Commissioners of the eight participating districts along with General Managers of District Industries centre of the respective districts.
Deputy Commissioner Namsai, R K Sharma welcomed all the visiting dignitaries and in his speech spoke on various aspects of District Export Promotion Committee and the role it will play in developing the districts into bustling trade hubs.
Tokong Pertin, Director (Trade & Commerce ) highlighted the future of export in Arunachal Pradesh & informed the gathering that the Prime Minister is himself reviewing and monitoring the progress on the subject matter.
Sasi Kumar, Addl. Director General, Foreign trade encouraged the DCs to encourage the avenues for trade in each district by putting priority on local production especially in the field of Agriculture and Horticulture in addition to other available resources. He also encouraged all to review the bottlenecks faced by their districts and work on them in order to develop the export potential of their districts.
The meeting is being held to implement the call of Prime Minister of India during his independence Day 2019 speech for developing each district in the country as “Export Hub" through PRAGATI ( Pro- Active Governance & Timely Implementation).
