BOMDILA, Nov 28: MLA, Dirang-cum-Adviser PWD Phurpa Tsering, who is also the Chairman of the District Development Committee (DPC), West Kameng today convened an urgent coordination meeting with the Departments of Power and Hydropower Development to discuss the issues of shortage and irregular supply of power in the district.
While urging the concerned departments to functionalize all the mini hydropower plants in the district to mitigate power supply shortage, the MLA expressed concern over Dirang becoming the worst sufferer in the district. “I am getting frequent complaints from Dirang residents regarding improper supply of electricity in the area,” he informed. Representatives of the departments informed that obsolete machines and their poor storage capacities are hampering the power generation processes.
Sharing statuses of the hydropower houses namely Diksi, Dukhumpani, Khazalang, Jongdorong, Saskarong etc., the departments assured the MLA that power supply will be normalised by December end. DIPRO
