Khonsa, Dec 9: The final phase of training of Presiding and Polling Officers for the ensuing Panchayat Election, was conducted today under the chairmanship of Namneet Singh, DPDO-cum-ADC, Khonsa.
The training was imparted by resource persons Namneet Singh, ADC, Khonsa, Indira Thoumong Riba, AC, Deomali, Yowa Anya, AC, Khonsa, and Nokgen Wangsu, ADES, who elaborated on the key responsibilities of polling personnel, polling procedures, handling of election materials, and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).  In the afternoon, DC-cum-DEO (PR), Tirap chaired two important meetings—
one with representatives of political parties and a separate meeting  with security heads of Tirap district, including the Superintendent of Police, CRPF, 44 Assam Rifles, IB, SIB, along with ADC Deomali, ADC Khonsa, DD (RD) and SDO Khonsa. These meetings were convened to ensure the smooth, transparent and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Panchayat Elections 2025. The DEO directed all political parties to adhere to the model code of conduct (MCC) provisions to ensure free, fair, and ethical electioneering throughout the district.
The DEO further stressed coordinated efforts among all departments, security agencies, and election officials to ensure that the Panchayat Election 2025 is conducted in a peaceful and efficient manner across Tirap district.
