ITANAGAR, Nov 21: While cries of agitating aspirants—‘we want justice’ pierced the serene IG park every morning for the past week, the qualified aspirants on the other camp are terribly miffed with the demands for the re-examination of the APPSCC Examination, terming it unacceptable and unfair.
The qualified aspirants who met Governor BD Mishra on Wednesday evening here at Raj Bhawan have submitted a representation seeking his intervention in continuing the examination process following the High Court order.
The qualified aspirants have been demanding that their hard work must be acknowledged and order to continue the examination process given by the High Court be upheld and respected.
Interacting with reporters here at the Raj Bhawan premises, the aspirants while clarifying that they are not against the protesting candidates, however lamented that it will be unfair if they prepare afresh and sit for the exam again.
“Why should we suffer for a mistake not committed by us? To penalise us just for few errors in some subjects will be arbitrary and illegal. We followed the Commission’s norms and following the Court order appeared for the examination,” lamented Maga Tago, one of the aspirants.
Discarding allegations of non conducive environment as suggested by agitating candidates, Mago said “there was a woman candidate quite advanced in her pregnancy that sat for the examination without any problems, so allegations of not providing a sound environment, is completely unfounded.”
The qualified candidates are also unhappy that  civil societies, leaders, intellectuals, scholars without considering their problems and grievances jumped in to support the agitating candidates.
Hilang Athlia Tana, mother of two, echoed similar sentiments and said that demand to re-conduct the examination at this juncture is completely irrational and one-sided. ‘It will also send a wrong message to society against the sanctity of the commission,’ she added.
“Few speakers during the protest said that the Constitution is not above the rights of human beings.

Are we not human beings? We have rights too and want legality for our hard work even if court delivers judgment in favour of protesting candidates,” she appealed.

The aspirants also raised apprehension if the independent expert committee will submit a genuine report as most of the intellectuals including students bodies in RGU are in support of agitating candidates.
“We have faith in the Vice Chancellor, RGU that he will appoint honest members for the committee,” said another aspirant who doesn’t want to go through this level of stress again.
Meanwhile, the aspirants revealed that the governor during the meeting assured to look into their problems and sought time to study the grievances of both the party. 

Gao breaks-off indefinite fast

ITANAGAR: Meanwhile, Tater Gao has called off his indefinite hunger strike after receiving assurance from Chief Minister Pema Khandu to table the issue of reformation of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission with the concerned authority.
However the protesting aspirants informed that their protest will continue in the form of relay hunger strike until the Commission comes out with a concrete solution.
The decision to call off the indefinite hunger strike came after few representatives called on the Chief Minister and Governor this evening.
