KHARSANG, Mar 30: Hundreds of people gheraoed the police station Kharsang after a body of 25-year-old girl was found in a tea garden, who went missing on March 7 last.
As per reports, the girl had gone missing on 7th March last from Injan village while on her way towards Panchun village from Miao. She was last seen boarding a yellow coloured taxi(Tata Magic) and her phone got switched off at arount 2:57pm.
The body of the victim was found in a decomposed condition;she was recognized only through her clothes and from a portion of a leg. Police have arrested two suspected accused who were selling the phone of the victim somewhere in Assam, informed sources.
The public claimed that the girl was raped and murdered by the culprits and demanded exemplary punishment. Later, the agitating mob also set fire to a police vehicle parked at the station premises.
MLA (Diyun Bordumsa) Somlung Mossang also reached the police station to control the mob and appealed to the pubic to support the police and administration to complete the procedure.
