ITANAGAR, Aug 5: Education Minister Taba Tedir on Wednesday informed that the review meeting to weigh the feasibility of reopening schools in the state will be held after August 15.
Speaking to the media, the Education Minister informed that as of now no decision has been made regarding the timeline of commencement of normal classes. However, admissions from Classes I-XII are being initiated to register the total number of students for the current academic session, he informed, adding that completion of admission procedure will help the department to distribute books and make the census for midday meal scheme.
When asked about online classes and admission, the Minister informed that due to poor network, admissions have been extended up to August 15.  While speaking on poor internet network hampering online classes, he informed that recently they had a meeting with all the network providers and accordingly, area-wise feasibility of networks has been determined.  
“We don’t want to hamper the study of students amidst the pandemic, therefore, in ‘No Network Zones’ DIET and other institutions were suggested to prepare worksheets for students. These worksheets will be provided to the students weekly or monthly and accordingly their assessment will be made,” the Education Minister informed.
