ITANAGAR, Jan 22: Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mama Natung has asserted that the people of Arunachal Pradesh and the state government won’t let an inch of land to China.
Natung said this while reacting to media reports on construction of a village inside the Arunachal territory by the Chinese authorities. “We are ready to go to any ends for the territorial integrity of our state and the country. We are proud of being Indians and also want to thank the Indian government and the Indian Army for standing tall in safeguarding Arunachal,” Natung stated today while responding to media queries.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein claimed that the land where the Chinese had constructed the village was under their occupation since 1959 during Congress regime.
“The incursion is not new in the area and Assam Rifles was deployed earlier, however, after the conflict, China again occupied the said area,” he added. When asked about the proposed Arunachal Frontier Highway planned 2,000-kilometre along the McMahon Line, the DCM asserted that the DPR has been already submitted to the Ministry of Highways and it is hoped that a decision to start the survey work will be coming soon.
Earlier, the DCM and the Sports Minister jointly flagged off ‘Seemanta Drashan’ organized by the Arunachal Vikash Parishad.
