Aalo, Jul 29: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi on Wednesday conducted an elaborate meeting on various Covid-related issues with the Head Gaon Burahs of 34 villages located nearby the township here at the DC’s Conference Hall.
Detailing on the preventive measures taken up by the District Administration to tackle the pandemic, DC asked the GBs to extend all-possible help and function as agents of the administration in villages. He lauded the efforts put in by the village authorities such as erecting check gates, forming committees, constructing staying huts and quarantine centres on self-help basis. Besides stressing on using school and community deres (halls) as temporary quarantine centres to accommodate returnees after test and treatment, he also urged the GBs to keep close vigil on people evading SOPs and entering villages. DMO Dr. Moli Riba stressed that the only way to keep safe from the virus is to maintain all preventive guidelines as vaccine and medicines are yet to arrive.
The GBs highlighted the activities being taken up by them in their respective villages and urged the DC to issue written permission to the village authorities so that necessary Covid related measures can be taken up in a decentralised manner. DIPRO
