TAWANG, Dec 30: A review meeting of the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) and Local Complaint Committee (LCC) of Tawang district constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 was held today here at the DC’s conference hall.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok the meeting was attended by 19 presiding officers/officials from various departments functioning in the district and Chairperson, LCC Nawang Yuton. Addressing the attendees, the DC while citing lack of awareness among citizens as a reason for non-filing of cases, stressed on sensitising the womenfolk particularly the sisters and daughters about the said Act. Besides asking the ICCs to take up cases, if any, in their concerned departments, he suggested organising sensitisation programmes involving all employees to check probable crimes.
The meeting was followed by sensitisation of the members on laws concerning women empowerment, child protection, adoption and functioning of One Stop Centre (OSC). DIPRO
