Itanagar, Oct 10: Free distribution of First Aid Kit to citizens aged 75 years and above under the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadi Pariyojana was held today at TRIHMS Naharlagun.
PMBJP is a campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses through special kendras known as Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana Kendra.
Deputy Commissioner ICC Talo Potom said proper usage of the PMBJP would be a blessing for the needy people. He said to encourage the use of generic medicines, he would work out modalities to award those doctors who prescribe generic medicines. He asked the representative of Popu enterprise, Pawan Bagang who is also the President Arunachal Pradesh Chemist & Drugs Association (APC&DA) and the supplier of generic medicine to ensure availability of medicines to all the hospitals and health centres of the Itanagar Capital Complex.
Dr Moji Jini, Director TRIHMS asked Popu Enterprise to ensure availability of medicines to keep the chain of supply uninterrupted. The Janaushadhi counter is located at the hospital itself.
Dr Emi Rumi, Director of Family Welfare also spoke on the occasion.
Bagang said that the generic medicines are low cost but of high quality and public should try to utilise the benefit of generic medicines.
