ITANAGAR, Jun 23: ICR Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom today visited the Government Upper Primary School, Lekhi to take stock of the Mid Day Meal rice scheme and reviewed the overall status of stocks for the capital schools.
The current quota of MDM rice is for the first  quarter of 2021-22 session covering the months of April-June. The CRCCs informed the DC that distribution of rice to the schools would be carried out by the carriage contractor for further distribution amongst students. It may be recalled that during last year due to the pandemic, students were handed over their share of MDM rice as classes were held online and there was no provision of providing cooked food. However, during the last quarter of the 2020-21 session when the schools reopened for a brief period, cooked MDM meals were provided to the students, the CRCCs informed.
The DC also took stock of the condition of the school and was apprised of the pressing issues. He further informed that he would visit every school in the capital to take stock of their ground realities and strive to bring changes in overall conditions. DIPRO
