YUPIA, Jul 19:

 

A meeting on implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye today to take stock of 
implementation of GST in Papum Pare district.

The DC while interacting with the officers from Tax 
and Excise enquired about the progress of GST in the district and said that GST is a totally new concept and all officers responsible for its implementation must keep themselves well acquainted with its mechanism besides educating the stakeholders to make GST implementation successful in the district. 


He also directed the DIO NIC to assist the Tax and Excise department in setting up a GST Facilitation 
Centre at DC office Yupia to facilitate GST registration.

Meanwhile officers from Tax and Excise department
briefed the DC about the GST and its modalities and informed that all businesses can register themselves 
for the GST by logging on the portal www.gst.gov.in. F& AO, DC Office, EAC (Hq) , Superintendent Tax and
Excise, Inspectors and ASIs attended the meeting.
