KHONSA, Jun 25: A meeting to review the status and achievement of Covid vaccination for 18+ beneficiaries in Tirap district was convened today by the District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) here at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall of DC’s office under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Taro Mize.
While appreciating the villagers of New Tupi, Old Lainwang, New Lainwang, Jadthung, Longo and other villages and the stakeholders for reaching 100% Covid vaccination coverage, the DC informed that special awareness camps will be conducted in the poorly-performing villages of Laho village under Dadam Circle, New Laptang and Pullong under Borduria Circle along with a special vaccination session at Nogna village under Lazu Administrative Circle on June 28 next. Earlier, DRCHO Dr. Nidak Angu through a PowerPoint Presentation highlighted the facility-wise performance as per electoral target, current stock position of vaccines in the district, registration status of 18+ beneficiaries and low-performing health facilities at Dadam, Soha and Natun Kheti.
EAC I/c. Lazu D.K.Thungdok informed that village-wise awareness campaigns couldn’t be arranged in time due to shortage of manpower at PHC Lazu and there is a reluctance on part of a few ASHAs and Anganwadi workers too in getting vaccinated. Dadam Circle Officer highlighted the shortage of manpower which has caused difficulties in covering the beneficiaries of eight villages in the Circle. CO Borduria, while apprising the DC about the tendency of aged people to get vaccinated, requested the DC/DMO to conduct a special awareness camp at Pullong village.
