BOLENG, Aug 7: Deputy Commissioner Siang, Atul Tayeng along with EAC-cum-PD Pangin, EE (Highway Division), DPO, AE WRD (Pangin Division), and Kebang ZPM visited the historically important Kekar Monying, a site of confrontation between the British and the Adis in 1911. The Anglo-Adi war trail is being developed along with construction of an epitaph by the WRD (Pangin Division) under SADA. The DC instructed the executing agency to ensure timely completion of work as per specifications.
The team also inspected progress of the alternate road being excavated and constructed at Rottung. The EE (Highway Division) has informed that the route will be completed in approximately two weeks and light motor vehicles will be able to ply on the route. The team then inspected construction of a Bailey suspension bridge (BSB) at Sanggam over River Siyom. The AEE GREF reported that the BSB tower at Boleng side has been constructed, assuring completion of the bridge by the end of this month. DIPRO
