Itanagar, Mar 5: All East Kameng Capital Complex Students Association organised XXII Blood Donation Camp at Blood Bank RK Mission Hospital Itanagar today which was attended by DC Capital Itanagar Talo Potom.
The DC along with Swami Vishweshananda, Secretary RKMH inspected the Blood bank and the in-house oxygen gas generator at the hospital.
With the increase in the number of surgeries, the consumption of oxygen has also increased, the RKMH authorities said informing that Delhi based NGO Path had donated the 800 LPM PSA system to their hospital.
Since its installation it has been working successfully thereby reducing the expenses and logistic related problems that were encountered with frequent visits to Guwahati. 
This has made the work of the nursing staff very easy and the patients are also comfortable with the system, the hospital further informed.
The hospital also installed a high speed gas bottling plant which can fill various sizes of cylinders, which are used for transit patients within the hospital and outside the hospital. 
Oxygen Generator also caters to the needs of a large number of patients  as it carries oxygen to all the beds in the hospital though centralized pipeline system. The blood bank also has a Blood Component Separation Unit which was installed in the year 2015-16.
It was the first of its kind facility in the state as Blood Components were not available in the state and due to non-availability, patients had to be referred outside the state for blood component transfusion.
Since installation, it has helped many needy patients of the state as they need not go out of the state for Blood Component transfusion. This has also eased their additional financial burden and logistic problem.
