Itanagar, Aug 21: The Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Talo Potom today handed over prizes to the winners of online patriotic essay and poetry competition that was organised as part of the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence, amongst the students of Itanagar Capital Complex from August 9-15.
Recalling the contribution of freedom fighters in making India an independent country, the DC urged the students to instil the values of patriotism. He said that one must love his country and should have the zeal to work for the country and only then we would be able to lead a life of integrity and realise our duty towards our nation.
He lauded the students for actively participating in the competition and urged them to work hard with sincerity and dedication.
DDSE Mallo Yam Gollo also lauded the students for their active participation despite the pandemic.
The online poetry competition was organised amongst the students of class VI to VIII and the winners are Jasmine Kalita, a student of Class VI of VKV Nirjuli, Antariksh Dey, a student of class VIII of VKV Nirjuli and Tarh Sitam, a student of Class VIII of Lekhi Public School who stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The winners were awarded cash prize of Rs 5000, 4000 and 3000 each with certificates.
The online patriotic essay competition was organised amongst the students of Classes XI to XII( category A) and classes IX to X ( Category B).
In the category A, Dare Mercy a student of class XII of Lekhi Public School, Rine Tayu, a student of class XI of VKV Nirjuli and Nongmaithem Suman Lawang a student of class XII of VKV Nirjuli stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 10,000, 8,000 and 6,000 each with certificates.
In category B, Akshitha Sivadas a student of class x of VKV Nirjuli, Tadar Upupha, a student of class IX of VKV Nirjuli and Roshni K Neri a student of class IX of Lekhi Public School stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and awarded cash prize of Rs 8000, 6000 and 4000 each with certificates.
Among others, EAC Datum Gadi, APO Tori Gadi, Principals/ Headmasters of concerned schools, parents of the students and others attended the programme which was organised at the DC’s office.
