ITANAGAR, Aug 24: A meeting to discuss waste disposal and garbage management of rural areas of ICC was convened today by the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Talo Potom with the ZPMs, GPCs and GPMs of ICC.
GPC Tana Taha Tara said that to solve the issue of garbage disposal within his jurisdiction, he has introduced the system of garbage management and disposal within the Jollang area. He said that the initiative has been started with an aim to make the denizens self reliant. 
ZPM Tok Tama and other GPCs and GPMs who attended the meeting said that with the aim of becoming self reliant, they have been managing the garbage disposal within their respective jurisdiction but requested for a vehicle for collecting and disposing the same.
Various schools and colleges in and around Jollang area informed that they have their own mechanism of disposing waste, which they do by segregating the waste into biodegradable and non biodegradable. They informed that all the garbage is disposed of within the campus itself while some are recycled too. However, they also requested for a proper garbage disposal mechanism to be started.
The DC urged the attendees to identify location for dumping zone. While praising the GPC of Jollang Panchayat, Tana Taha Tara, the DC also urged them to find innovative ways and to become self-reliant in managing wastes.
Earlier, Er Tadar Mangku EE( PHED) briefed about various proposals of the department for waste management like dumping zones for plastic, garbage lifting vehicles etc. DIPRO
