Speaking at the meeting, DC Papum Pare said that all possibilities must be explored to bring freight trains till Naharlagun adding that it would not only cut down on the cost of transportation but would also ensure faster delivery of goods.
President ACCI Tarh Nachung said that provision should be made in the passenger trains to attach a few additional bogies to carry goods.
GS ACCI Toko Tatung said that most of the North eastern states have such facilities including the recent one at Manipur, which would be cost effective as the transportation cost from Guwahati to Naharlagun via road results in increase in prices of goods.
