LONGDING, Aug 31: An emergency meeting on law and order was convened by Deputy Commissioner Longding, Bani Lego today. In the meeting the recent assault on Executive Engineer, PWD was also discussed along with the discussion on prevailing law and order condition of the district. All the members attending the meeting vehemently condemned the assault on the officer. The CBOs demanded prompt action and immediate arrest of the culprit; also they said culprits involved in the assault must be booked under the most stringent laws.
The meeting was attended by the ZPC, DySP, ZPMs, administrative officers, HoDs and representatives of various community based organizations.
Meanwhile, the DySP Longding B Tangjang informed about the breakthrough in the EE assault case. Five highly suspicious individuals have been arrested which includes the chowkidar of the house while one suspect is still absconding, he said. DIPRO
