Khonsa, Aug 5: In view of the poor performance of the students of Tirap district in Mathematics in the recently declared CBSE results, DC Bhanu Prabha on Wednesday conducted a counselling-cum-interaction programme with the students of Class X seeking remedial classes for improving performance.  Interacting with the students and teachers DC said extra classes are meant to ensure that all students obtain good marks in the compartmental examination.
In order to create interest among the students and faculty members in Mathematics, a movie based on the life of Mathematics wizard Shakuntala Devi was screened. DC requested the teachers to identify the hidden talents  of the students and encouraged the students, particularly the rural girl students to learn from the life of Shakuntala Devi who was called the ‘human computer’ despite being deprived of formal education. DDSE Hortum Loyi appreciated the DC for conducting the programme.
Headmasters of different secondary schools of the district were present on the occasion. DIPRO
