TAWANG, Dec 24: A two-day re-sensitization-cum-orientation training on non-communicable diseases (NCD) and population-based screening for the Medical officers, Health and Wellness Officers and ANMs of Sub-centres of Tawang district concluded here today.
42 participants from different Health and Wellness centres, CHCs and PHCs of the district attended the training. DC Tawang Sang Phuntsok, DMO Dr Wangdi Lama and Medical Superintendent Dr N.Namshum attended the valedictory function. The DC while stating that the district hospital has changed a lot during last few years stressed on spreading of more COVID awareness in the wake of spike of cases during 
last one week in the district. “We all have to follow the SOPs and if cases increase in a particular village, we can declare it as a containment zone to contain further spread. Screening at POE Jang will be strengthened and more strict screening will be carried out,” he added. DPO NCD Dr Sangey Thinlay while informing that non-communicable diseases are the main causes of comorbid deaths in Covid cases, added that11342 tests have been done in Tawang district so far, out of which 463 COVID positive cases were detected and cured. Presently there are 40 active cases in the district, he informed.
The DC along with the DMO later handed over computer and printer sets to the Health and Wellness centres. DIPRO
