Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ITANAGAR, Jul 13: In a vital meeting participated by various stakeholders including IMC mayor, deputy mayor and Itanagar MLA, ICC Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom today discussed the measures that will be optimal for ensuring a 100% Covid vaccination coverage in the Capital Complex.
DMO Dr Mandip Perme informed that as per electoral roll, a total of 90066 denizens are under the 18+ age group, of which 82327 have already taken their 1st dose and 13505 their 2nd dose. But since Capital Complex has a floating population, the data of these persons who are yet to be vaccinated would be a little high, the DMO stated while clarifying queries. Urging the denizens to follow government directives, Dr Perme said that if a 100% vaccination coverage is reached and Covid Appropriate Behaviour strictly adhered, the need for containment measures won’t arise, adding that refusing vaccination might increase the chances of transmission resulting in continual rise of positive cases in such unvaccinated areas, colonies and sectors.
While assuring his cooperation to the District Administration and the Health department, MLA Itanagar Techi Kaso said that all corporators/ ZPMs should conduct survey within their jurisdictions to identify the unvaccinated denizens and persuade them to get vaccinated at the earliest. Mayor Tame Phassang assured full cooperation from IMC’s end to ensure a 100% vaccination coverage. Representing the IMWA, Yumlam Achung opined that mass awareness on vaccination is necessary to weed out the pre-conceived negative notions. The DC asked all the stakeholders attending the meeting to send the lists of eligible persons who have not been vaccinated at the earliest.
Deputy Mayor Biri Basang, corporators, SP Capital Jimmy Chiram, ZPMs, Administrative Officers, APPSU, ACC&I, Market Welfare Associations and AAPPTF were among others who participated in the meeting. DIPRO
